Some weddings are just a joy to photograph. Georgina and Andrew’s wedding at Wentbridge House Hotel was exactly that. From bridal preps to the last dance of night, it was all about family and making memories.
Vital Bridal Prep Vibes
I started the day with Georgina and her bridal party in room 11, one of the amazing Bridal Suites. Working again with some of my favourite recommended suppliers I just know the day and timings are going to be spot on.
Georgina looked calm though. Her dress hung perfectly over the four poster bed – elegant and fitted. Her makeup was soft and timeless, a perfect match for the relaxed style of the day.
Over in the other wing, Andrew was busy perfecting his tie. The lads had that casual “we’ve got this” confidence. Spoiler: one of them did not, in fact, have it and we have a somewhat nerouvs groom! Even being together for 20 years doesn’t calm the nerves!
Outdoor Ceremony Goals
Wentbridge House Hotel has the most beautiful outdoor ceremony space. The gardens were blooming, the chairs were lined, and guests were already smiling.
Georgina arrived looking radiant, arm-in-arm with her proud dad. Andrew’s face said it all – and tears rolled down. The ceremony was full of personal touches and heartfelt vows.
Outdoor ceremonies at Wentbridge House Hotel near Pontefract really are something special. They have this timeless charm and a completely garden party relaxed feel.
Canapés, Confetti, and Cuddles
After the “I do’s”, bubbles down the aisle and the obligatory big group shot everyone grabbed a glass and canapés. The hotel staff did an amazing job keeping guests topped up and nibbling.
If you’re getting married outdoor at Wentbridge House Hotel in Wakefield, don’t skip confetti or bubbles– it’s golden and I can help you sort it all out!
Group Photos Without the Fuss
Group photos don’t have to be dull. We breezed through them in record time. A few fun ones, a few formal ones, and some spontaneous giggles in between. The gardens made a perfect backdrop.
Having photographed weddings here many times, I know the best spots around Wentbridge House Hotel for natural, bright group shots.
Portraits with Personality
Once the group photos were sorted, and around 30 minutes before their wedding breakfast, I whisked Georgina and Andrew away for a stroll. The aim? Keep it relaxed and fun!
Wentbridge’s grounds are brilliant for portraits – leafy paths, soft light, and space to breathe. These two didn’t stop smiling. I barely had to direct them. Just a bit of walking, a few twirls, and a sneaky kiss or two. Job done.
Drinks, Laughter, and Chill Time
Back at the drinks reception, guests were in full swing. The lawn was full of chatter, with people raising glasses and catching up.
One of my favourite parts of wedding photography at Wentbridge House Hotel is this bit – the natural moments. Kids running barefoot, hugs that last a bit longer, and older relatives doing shots with the younger ones. Always gold.
A Few More Portraits (Because Why Not?)
Before everyone headed inside, we snuck out for round two of portraits. The light had softened and so had the pace. This time, it was just about soaking it all in.
Georgina and Andrew had a quiet five minutes together. I just followed along at a distance. These are often my favourite images – relaxed, romantic, and completely unforced.
Wedding photography in Wakefield is always varied, but Wentbridge evenings like this are hard to beat.
Dancefloor Mayhem (The Good Kind)
First dance time. They twirled, giggled, and occasionally tripped on each other’s toes. But it was perfect especially when their children joined them on the dancefloor.
Then the party really started.
