I knew photographing Rachel and Joel’s wedding at Bawtry Hall near Doncaster would be special. After all, I’d captured Joel’s sister’s wedding a few years ago and reconnecting with families and friends you’ve made along the way is always very special.

The day began very relaxed and I arrived for preps at The Crown Hotel (across the road from Bawtry Hall) around 3 hours prior to the ceremony.  Rachel’s bridal preparations were full of smiles and more than a few laughs. Rachel wore an elegant, off shoulder, lace-adorned dress perfectly matching the classic charm of Bawtry Hall.

Transitioning smoothly from preparations, the indoor ceremony in one of Bawtry Hall’s elegant rooms was stunning. Soft natural light flooded through the tall windows, creating a dream lighting for a wedding photographer in Doncaster. Rachel’s entry brought emotional gasps, while Joel waited, his anticipation building. Exchanging vows, they mixed laughter and heartfelt moments beautifully. All watched on by Rachel’s two rescue dogs.

Following the ceremony, the celebration shifted seamlessly outdoors with a full wedding group shot from one of the rooms above. Guests mingled, sharing stories, some not seen each other for quite a long time. Everyone enjoyed this easy-going atmosphere. Capturing candid photography here felt natural, reflecting the genuine joy of the day.

Group portraits followed swiftly, and they couldn’t have been smoother. With Bawtry Hall’s lush gardens as a backdrop, coordinating family and friends became an enjoyable experience rather than a chore. Laughter echoed constantly, making every shot fun!

Next came Rachel and Joel’s first set of bride and groom portraits. These sessions are a favourite of mine, particularly at Bawtry Hall, where classic architecture meets picturesque gardens and the newlyweds shared private moments. Out of the wind the afternoon sunshine was a perfect ingredient for timeless wedding photography.

As guests savored the relaxed drinks reception, I wandered discreetly, documenting interactions. Wedding photography at Bawtry Hall truly shines in these candid moments—natural laughter, spontaneous hugs, and animated conversations filling every image.

We then headed out again for more bride and groom portraits. This time, the golden hour cast a warm, magical glow across Bawtry Hall’s impressive architecture. Rachel and Joel, now fully relaxed after a fun filled set of speeches.

As daylight softened, it was time for the first dance. The ballroom in Bawtry Hall looked amazing, especially filled with the party goers than had turned up to hear The SouthWestBand.

Reflecting on this fantastic day photographing Rachel and Joel’s wedding at Bawtry Hall, I’m reminded why I love wedding photography. From bridal preparations to the captivating first dance, every moment felt warm, fun and vibrant. Weddings like these highlight the joy of capturing genuine emotions and memories.

For brides planning weddings near Doncaster, especially at a venue as charming as Bawtry Hall, moments like these promise memories worth treasuring. Every smile, every laugh, and every heartfelt look captured makes wedding photography truly rewarding.

Rachel and Joel, your day was an absolute joy to photograph. Cheers to a lifetime filled with as much happiness as your wedding day at the exquisite Bawtry Hall!
